In class we labeled that parts of type in our name. Each letter has different parts which are pink with names by them. I made this in illustrator by typing my name then cutting it into pieces which I colored. I learned that different fonts have different "personalities" which is how they look and what they are used for. For example the the font Helvetica is used in many logos because it is sans serif, or without serifs so it is easier to read on a screen. I thought it was interesting that fonts can change the meaning of a logo. I also found it interesting that different books have different fonts depending on there topics. Last, I was surprised that you could cut the letters into pieces in illustrator.

Color psychology it how colors affect the brain and the mood that the color creates. Green represents fresh, clean, and natural. There are different color schemes, the color in each schemes compliment each other. To help learn about color phycology we made two color wheels and took inspiration from other color wheels. During this project I learned how to use basic tools in illustrator, and how to balance asking for help and working on your project. I would chose a different design for my color wheel but, I would use the same shades of colors. I will draw from the knowledge I now have of illustrator for later projects.

Graphic Design is all visual texts and content used in real and digital advertisements. It creates a design that is pleasing to the eye. My neighbor it at TCU for graphic design, she does lots of typography. Typography is using fonts, spacing, size, and colors to  communicate different  messages. Typography is used in making posters, labels, and book covers. I think that it is important to make objects look pleasing because people make an assumption about objects by the way they look. Graphic Design is also connected to phycology because colors activate different parts of the brain. I learned about color phycology at camp, each color represents something to the brain. This week we made websites in e-Com. We embedded some of our previous work in the project. During the project we followed instructions to create the website. After we got done we could change the colors until we got it to look the way we wanted. I added an image as the background so that it had character. I learned how to use the Dreamweaver software and insert pictures. I learned how to balance helping others and working on your own project. I would read the instructions carefully the first time so that it took me less time to complete the project. I would use the same information and pictures in my website. I will draw for this experience how to use the good time management and dream weaver. I think that this is good for my first website and that I would like to do this again.

This is a promotional video that I made for the first year of e-Communications, e9. First we got with our partner, decided what shots we wanted to do, and looked at other previous e-Communications promotion videos for inspiration. Next, we went around to all the other e9  rooms and filmed the shots we planed. Then, we recorded our voice overs from a script and edited all the film and put it together with music and the voice over to create the final project. I learned how to do a voice over in Final Cut Pro. I learned that sometimes as a partner you need to take initiative if the other person isn't doing their part. Also, that people have different views on what is important to the project. If I got to do this project again I would asked to turn on the lights in one of the rooms so the shots would be brighter and I would get a larger variety of shots. This is a chase scene we made in class this week. YouTube has not been working today so here is a link, click here to go to the video. We used the six shot system to chose the shots we took. We made a story board of the shots we wanted to take then ran around the school shooting scenes. My inspiration for this came from my friend in cross country who always stole my running gear. When it came together mine was a little long and had some of the same shots repeated. My class thought the ending was good and that there was no camera movement. The problem with camera movement it that there are only two of us in a group and we were both in the shots. I learned how to use the Final Cut Pro hardware and that you can work better in a group if you communicate everything. If  I got to do this project again I would make my shots shorter and make us run around less of the school. I would also try and make the acting less tacky. This is a video staring my classmate Ava. She is demonstrating how to print from the school printers. We went to the schools library and filmed lots of different shots with the 6 shot system.  I used a program called Final Cut Pro to put the videos together and add music. We shot some of the parts twice or extra long. Later when I edited I took some of those parts out or made them shorter so that the video flowed together better. I learned how to use Final Cut Pro, how to add music, put videos together, and cut videos. I learned how you could edit a video for a long time to get it perfect but you have to edit it in a day or two so make the most of your time. I would shoot the scenes again so they go together better. I would use the same idea to shoot the video. I will I will draw for the experiance of the video flowing together to make the next one flow better. I think that for my fist porject this was pretty good but, I think that the next project will be better.
