End of Year Reflection

What I Learned


This year in e-Comm I learned many valuable skills. I learned about time management as well as teamwork. I also learned about technical skills in graphic design, animation, web design, and video. I learned how to used adobe illustrator and photoshop. I also learned how to use dreamweaver and final cut pro to create website and videos. Especially in the fourth quarter project I learned how valuable communication is in a group and how to use time wisely.



I learned the technical skills through tutorials, experimentation, and communication with the teacher, especially for my eMagine project. I learned group management skills through our forth quarter project. I learned how to effectively manage time and how important it is thorough getting behind. I learned the importance of communication through having no communication on our project. I also learned the importance of a good group dynamic since my group had a poor one.



Technical skills are important to complete projects and to have well rounded work. Group skills are important to have good group dynamics. It also creates a good working atmosphere and makes the project better. If there is a good group dynamic work can be cohesive and effective.

Strengths and Weaknesses 



My greatest strengths this year were graphic design elements. I felt like I accomplish more and had a better quality of work in Graphic design. My greatest weaknesses were group dynamic skills. It was hard for my group to accomplish anything because of time management and respect issues. I have improved because after this group project I feel I have a better knowledge of how to communicate and manage time.



With all the skills I have learned I am going to work on better projects next year. I will also use these skills over the summer to work on individual projects. Applying this knowledge to future projects can help me build new, more complex skills. Also I will apply time management skills to other classes and group projects. I will use communication skills in other group projects.

Changes


I would change my group project if I could change anything. I would make us more time effective and communicate better. I would make the project more cohesive and change the commercial. I would also change the group dynamic to make it a better working environment and more positive. The other thing I would change from this year would be the amount of skills we could learn in each time period because we got o little time in each class.



This year in e-Comm I developed a lot of new skills, group management as well as technical skills. I have made many good friends through e-Comm. I have also learned the importance of time and group dynamic. Last I have found out what I like to do and how I like to express myself through visual arts.

This post is a tutorial of how to write your name on a computer.  If you follow the steps below you can write your name easily. The end result will be the close to the GIF to the right. 1. The first step is to open photoshop and create a 150 x 600 pixel document. Once you have done that, choose a font that you like and type your name. First Animation!

This is my first animation, a ball bouncing. It may not look like much, but there is one main component that you have to use. It is called squash and stretch. You make the ball elongate and get thiner to create the illusion of speed. When it hits the ground you make it squash to look like it hit something.

Bee Story Animation

Project Overview For the last couple weeks in animation I have been working on a story animation. First I had to make plot line and create a character for my story. I decided to make it about a bee who runs into the window of a flower shop while trying to get to the flowers inside. Next I had to create a storyboard to show how all my shots would go together. Then I had to create sketches of my character and scan them into the computer, the image to the side is my fist sketch of my bee once I scared it into the computer. Once I had the sketches into the computer I used photoshop to make them look cleaner and to add color. Next, I create most of the elements of the backgrounds in photoshop. I made the flowers in illustrator and moved into photoshop, there is an image of the flowers to the side.
