Butterfly

Today in e-Com I made a butterfly. I used the tools to change the shade of each peace of the wings to a different color. Then I used the clone tool to make the wings look like they were beating. I will use this experience to make my next projects better. If I got to do this project again I would keep the colors them same. However I would take more time using the clone tool to make the wings look like they were beating.

e9 Promotional Video

This is a promotional video that I made for the first year of e-Communications, e9. First we got with our partner, decided what shots we wanted to do, and looked at other previous e-Communications promotion videos for inspiration. Next, we went around to all the other e9  rooms and filmed the shots we planed. Then, we recorded our voice overs from a script and edited all the film and put it together with music and the voice over to create the final project. I learned how to do a voice over in Final Cut Pro. I learned that sometimes as a partner you need to take initiative if the other person isn't doing their part. Also, that people have different views on what is important to the project. If I got to do this project again I would asked to turn on the lights in one of the rooms so the shots would be brighter and I would get a larger variety of shots. Professional Project Review

Summary The project I found is a collection of character animations, inspired by outer space, that express emotions. They were made for a google app and loop forever without any noticeable start or stop. There is an image of one of the characters but for the full post click here . Review  Each character icon tells a short individual story. The icon for encouragement is two characters the sun and the earth. The sun nods and pats the earth on the head which makes it smile wider. Another small story is told in the confused icon which is a spaceship looking around. When it can't find anything it shrugs its shoulders then goes back to looking around. One element of these projects that I would apply to my own work is how the characters are constantly moving such as blinking, nodding, or bouncing which gives them a more realistic feel because people are never still. First Animation!

This is my first animation, a ball bouncing. It may not look like much, but there is one main component that you have to use. It is called squash and stretch. You make the ball elongate and get thiner to create the illusion of speed. When it hits the ground you make it squash to look like it hit something.
