My Website

Image
This week we made websites in e-Com. We embedded some of our previous work in the project. During the project we followed instructions to create the website. After we got done we could change the colors until we got it to look the way we wanted. I added an image as the background so that it had character. I learned how to use the Dreamweaver software and insert pictures. I learned how to balance helping others and working on your own project. I would read the instructions carefully the first time so that it took me less time to complete the project. I would use the same information and pictures in my website. I will draw for this experience how to use the good time management and dream weaver. I think that this is good for my first website and that I would like to do this again.

e9 Promotional Video

Image
This is a promotional video that I made for the first year of e-Communications, e9. First we got with our partner, decided what shots we wanted to do, and looked at other previous e-Communications promotion videos for inspiration. Next, we went around to all the other e9  rooms and filmed the shots we planed. Then, we recorded our voice overs from a script and edited all the film and put it together with music and the voice over to create the final project. I learned how to do a voice over in Final Cut Pro. I learned that sometimes as a partner you need to take initiative if the other person isn't doing their part. Also, that people have different views on what is important to the project. If I got to do this project again I would asked to turn on the lights in one of the rooms so the shots would be brighter and I would get a larger variety of shots. I would keep the music and some of the shots the same. For instance I like the first shot and the chase scene shots. I will draw f...

Chase Scene

Image
This is a chase scene we made in class this week. YouTube has not been working today so here is a link, click here to go to the video. We used the six shot system to chose the shots we took. We made a story board of the shots we wanted to take then ran around the school shooting scenes. My inspiration for this came from my friend in cross country who always stole my running gear. When it came together mine was a little long and had some of the same shots repeated. My class thought the ending was good and that there was no camera movement. The problem with camera movement it that there are only two of us in a group and we were both in the shots. I learned how to use the Final Cut Pro hardware and that you can work better in a group if you communicate everything. If  I got to do this project again I would make my shots shorter and make us run around less of the school. I would also try and make the acting less tacky. I would shoot the same story just make it more obvious wha...

How to Print

Image
This is a video staring my classmate Ava. She is demonstrating how to print from the school printers. We went to the schools library and filmed lots of different shots with the 6 shot system.  I used a program called Final Cut Pro to put the videos together and add music. We shot some of the parts twice or extra long. Later when I edited I took some of those parts out or made them shorter so that the video flowed together better. I learned how to use Final Cut Pro, how to add music, put videos together, and cut videos. I learned how you could edit a video for a long time to get it perfect but you have to edit it in a day or two so make the most of your time. I would shoot the scenes again so they go together better. I would use the same idea to shoot the video. I will I will draw for the experiance of the video flowing together to make the next one flow better. I think that for my fist porject this was pretty good but, I think that the next project will be better.

My Personality as an Animal

Image
Today I took a personality test that showed me what animal I am, I got a beaver. This means that I am creative, like to solve problems, and take my time and do things correctly. This is true because I like to read and write and do all my assignments correctly no matter how long it takes. I have high standards and like order and respect. I also have unrealistic expectations of others and myself.  I do have unrealistic expectations of myself, I expect myself not to mess up and to do well on most things. I am also optimistic and flexible. This is true because I tend to look on the bright side of things and go with the flow. In my Brigs Meyers test I got slightly introversion and slightly prefer sensing. I also slightly prefer judging over perceiving. I moderately prefer thinking over feeling.

The Six Shot System

Image
The six shot system is a way to shoot photos so the viewer can easily understand what is going on in the pictures. It has six simple photos that you can take to provide an accurate depiction of the person, or subject, what they are doing, and how they feel about it.  The first shot is a close up of the hands. This shows what he subject of the photos is doing. In this picture try to make the hands take up most of the screen.  The second photo is a close up of the face. It shows how the subject feels about the task they are preforming. Try to get the full face in tis picture, not cutting off the top or bottom.  The third photo is an over the shoulder shot. This shows what the person is doing from their perspective. Try to get some of their head and the object the are working on. The forth picture is a medium shot. It ties together what the subject is doing and what they are feeling.  You sho...

Social Media can Affect Your Future

Summary Social media may affect if you get in to a college or not. A recent study showed that 31% of colleges are looking at applicants social media page. Some schools say that even if they look at social media it doesn't affect students chances of acceptance. Go here  for the full article. Things That Surprise Me   This article contained some surprises, the first one was one student who was at a college information session, tweeted out rude comments about her fellow prospective students because she didn't realize that the school monitored there mentions. Also, some students don't realize that comments they make online can negative affect them. Last, 30% of the surveyed admissions officers said they discovered information online that hurt applicants prospects. Questions I Have   I had some questions on the article as well. The first is the article mentions students untagging them self's in pictures and changing their searchable names. My question was does this ...

This is a video of the house I made on Google Sketchup. In Sketchup you can draw 2D objects and then pull them into 3D objects. Then paint them, cut shapes out of them, and a ton of other things I don't know how to do. When we made the house the roof was the hardest thing to make because you had to make the peaks and valleys correctly, I had to change the roof some to make it work for the house.  My favorite thing to make was the window because you could personalize it however you want, I would have put more on the house but I couldn't get them to move back.

How to Write Your Name... Using a Computer

Image
This post is a tutorial of how to write your name on a computer.  If you follow the steps below you can write your name easily. The end result will be the close to the GIF to the right. 1. The first step is to open photoshop and create a 150 x 600 pixel document. Once you have done that, choose a font that you like and type your name. It can be any font, but types of cursive work better. 2. After you do step one, you have to rasterize the layer. Do this by right clicking on the layer and going to the Rasterize Type button. Next, you crop the page so that your name is in the center. After you do that copy the layer. Do this by pulling the layer down to the small button that looks like a piece of paper with the corner folded over. 3. After the layer is copied erase a small piece off the last letter. Do this as if you are writing your name backwards. Next you copy the layer and then erase more of the letter on that layer. Remember that you have to hid...

10 Words Animation

Image
This week  I made an animation of ten words that describe us. I used the principles that we had already learned to create it. This time instead of using a frame by frame animation I used a video timeline animation. I put a picture in as the background and based the word colors off of it.

Smiley Face Bouncing Ball

Image
This is my second animation! I used a technique we learned last week squash and stretch again, which is what I used on my last animation. This animation was more complex because it had more movement of the ball, which results in more frames. At the end we got to make it go off the screen however we wanted. Some people made it roll off. Others made it disappear, but I decided to make it fall off my name. To do that I used anticipation because right before it fell off it slowed down. I also decided to make two different colored faces because I had extra time. I hope you like it!

First Animation!

Image
This is my first animation, a ball bouncing. It may not look like much, but there is one main component that you have to use. It is called squash and stretch. You make the ball elongate and get thiner to create the illusion of speed. When it hits the ground you make it squash to look like it hit something.
